It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Demirjian due to complications following a fall. Dorothy was born and raised in Michigan to Vartouhi and Dikran Vahratian. She was the middle child of 5 and an exceptional athlete. In 1952, she married the love of her life, Richard Demirjian, who she shared 67 years of marriage with until his passing in 2020. They moved to California in 1960 where they raised their family in Moraga. Athletics were a big part of both Dorothy and Richards lives and they could be seen at Campolindo basketball games still, well into their 80s.
Dorothy was a member of St. Vartan Armenian Apostolic Church and the Daughters of Vartan. Her faith and church were very important to her.
Dorothy was preceded in death by husband Richard, sisters Ann and Rose and brother Richard. She is survived by her brother Adam (Louise), sister-in-law Izzy, son Richard (Aida), daughter Janet (John), grandchildren Ara (Ani) and Vahe Demirjian, Conner and Madelyn King, Zack (Emily), Kayleigh and Alayna Schmid and great grandson Tobias Schmid.
