Nancy Ann Grimm passed away unexpectedly on Thursday April 7th after suffering from a fall at her home.
Nancy Ann Burns was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in Torrance, CA. She moved around a lot when she was young, ending up in Baton Rouge, LA. There, as a fellow patient during a hospital stay, she met a German merchant marine named Gerd Grimm with whom she would go on to have a marriage of more than 30 years.
Nancy graduated from Sonoma State with a degree in nursing. She worked at times as an RN, but her greatest love and calling in life was being the mother of her four children.
Nancy was very active in the LDS Church and was the embodiment of selfless service. She loved arts and crafts, genealogy, and cooking. She could often be found helping out at the genealogy library and she volunteered her nursing services for many church campouts.
Nancy is survived by her brothers Robert and Richard, her children Doris, Ursula, Hans and Marina, and her grandchildren Brandon, Donivan and Camden.
Friends and family are invited to a viewing at 9am and chapel service at 10am at 940 Palisade Drive in Martinez and burial at 11am at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Concord on Friday April 22nd.
