Obituary

Milton Earl Martin, 92, of Martinez CA and formerly Fresno California passed away on December 22nd 2021 at his home in Martinez, CA after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Milton was son of Henry and Maria Martin and brother to Betty Nesmith and Warren Martin. Milton is survived by his wife of 70 years Ima Martin, daughter Susan Elrod and three sons Jeffrey, Steven, Douglas as well as their spouses. Milton is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren living in California and Japan. In his earlier years Milton was promoted to a Corporal in the Korean war. Milton was made Corporal due to his shorthand and typing skills and sent to manage a Military warehouse in Anchorage Alaska until his service was up. Milton had a career working for the Santa Fe Railroad for 29 years working as a Sales Representative. Milton was very active through the years as a president of the Santa Fe Traffic club that he belonged to as well as being Master of Ceremonies in many events. Milton was active in putting together class reunions for his high school in Fresno. Milton was always the life of the party with his charismatic and charming ways. During his retirement years Milton enjoyed working in his yard with Ima and truly enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Milton had enjoyed lots of friendships through the years and especially with his breakfast buddies that he met with monthly until he moved to Martinez. Milton enjoyed all kinds of music but especially Jazz. He would spend hours playing the organ and electric piano. Milton will be greatly missed by family and friends. Services will be postponed for now due to covid concerns.
