Mary Frances Mauger was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to John R. and Mary Cecilia (nee Delaney) Mauger. She lived most of her life at the family home in the Northwood section of the city. As a child and young adult, she spent the summers at the family cottage in Ocean Gate, N.J. sailing and fishing. Later years were spent with family on Long Beach Island, N.J. Mary Frances graduated from Nazareth Academy in the Burholme section of the city. She then pursued a career with the Home Insurance Company in downtown Philadelphia, retiring in the late eighties. After a brief illness, she moved to Lafayette, California, to be near family. She spent many happy days with them, enjoying trips to Lake Tahoe, Napa and the surrounding area.
Mary Frances inherited her love of football from her Father, and they never missed a University of Pennsylvania Thanksgiving game. Her love and devotion to the Philadelphia Eagles cannot be forgotten.
Mary Frances learned to play the piano, and much to the delight of her family, entertained on the holidays and family gatherings. She was a quiet, softspoken woman, devoted to her mother and close family. We shall always remember she never missed a single birthday. Mary Frances is survived by her cousin, Patricia "Pat" Prosek and family, and she will never be forgotten.
A Memorial Mass will be 1:30 PM, Thursday, December 8th at Christ the King Church, Pleasant Hill, CA. Interment at St. Dominic Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA.
