Lois Silva passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on June 7th, 2020 after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Lois was born April 24th 1939 in Minneapolis Minnesota. She was the 2nd of four children born to Lee Collins & Lorraine (Schulte) Collins.

Lois graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1957 and then went to work at Archer Daniels Midland as a Key Punch Operator.

Lois met Tony Silva in July of 1960. Tony was the Best Man at her sister Pat’s wedding to Wayne Slater. Lois and Tony married one year later, on September 9, 1961 after they moved to Alameda, California where Tony lived. They moved from Alameda to Pleasant Hill before settling in Martinez where they raised their two daughters Laura & Ann Marie.

Family was always important to Lois. She loved and maintained strong connections throughout her life, not only with her family in California, but also with her extended family in Minnesota & Wisconsin.

Was loved by her many friends and neighbors for her sweet nature and generous spirit. Volunteering was a big part of Lois’ life. She spent much of her time volunteering at the Pleasant Hill Senior Center and the Alter Society at Christ The King Church in Pleasant Hill.

She loved crafts and was known for her funny and personalized gifts and hats made special for her family and friends. Lois loved nature and animals and was a great fan of local sports. She enjoyed watching the Oakland A’s and Raiders, as well as the San Francisco Giants and 49er’s. She especially loved attending her grandchildren’s many sporting events.

Lois adored her four grandchildren, Riley, Zach, Tristan & Brooke and never missed an opportunity to spend time with them. She was a Proud US Airforce Grandma to her Grandson Tristan.

Preceded in death by her parents, her brother Gary & her husband of 39 years, Tony.

Survived by her Daughters Laura Promes (Greg) and Ann Marie Casner (Troy).  Four Grandchildren, Riley, Zachary, Tristan & Brooke. Sisters Pat Slater (Wayne) and Kathy Martin (Ed).  Sister-in-Law Ellen Collins and many Nieces & Nephews.
