Kenneth Willis Sandy, 83, of Danville, CA, passed away on December 24, 2020. Ken was born in Walnut Creek, CA to Lenen Willis Sandy and Ruby Marie Sandy. He grew up with brothers Lenen Ernest Sandy, Dale Arden Sandy (deceased) and sister Dixie Marie Sandy (deceased).
He was a kind and loving partner to his spouse Dorothy, as well as a wonderful father to his daughter Reagan Hall (Keith) and through marriage Ron Maher (Stacey), Kim Prosser (Kevin), Jennifer Maher and Mike Maher (deceased) along with grandchildren Austin Hall, Morgan Hall, Matt Prosser, Sarah Hronek (Luke), Ryan Prosser, Lindsey Maher, Tyler Maher (deceased), Jake Gabris (Anaysa), Katie Wilber (Dakotah) and Logan Maher.
Ken was well respected in the community and served as Danville’s first Chief of Police in 1982. After his retirement he assisted in recruiting officers for the Contra Costa Sheriff’s department and served on the San Ramon Valley Fire Department board of supervisors. He also served in the Navy from 1958-1962. Ken was an avid fisherman, loved watching his grandchildren’s sporting events, attending football games, church and family gatherings.
