James David Mestas

Jim was born in Albany CA, graduated from Albany High. He enlisted in the Navy to serve his country in the Vietnam War. Shortly after returning from the war he met and married the love of his life Cherie (Sabey) and had three beautiful children. While supporting his family as a fireman he managed to go to college and get a degree. Wanting to be home every night with his family he changed career paths and has been an industrial electrician for the last 31 years.
Jim’s family meant everything to him. He is preceded in death by his youngest son, Vaughn Michael Mestas. Survived by wife Cherie (Sabey) Mestas, daughter Dejah Mestas, son Cody Mestas, granddaughter Leaona Mestas and grandson Logan Mestas.
Amazing, hardworking, selfless, strong, honest, understanding, loving, dad, grandpa and husband are just a few words to describe Jim. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His strong hand shakes, great hugs and loving heart will truly be missed.

Celebration of life will be held at daughter's home, 3558 Larchmont Dr., Fairfield, CA 94534
Sept 11th 12:30 pm. Private interment at Rockville Cemetery.
