Jack Stephen Bognar Jr. Resident of Fairfield Feb 19, 1957 – Mar 19, 2020 On Thursday, March 19, 2020, Jack Stephen Bognar Jr. passed away surrounded by his closest family. After suffering a cerebral hemorrhagic stroke early in March, he fought hard to heal, but was unable to recover. Stephen, as he preferred to be called, was born in Sacramento, CA and grew up playing football at Cordova High School and Sierra College. He was passionate about politics and worked on several campaigns for local politicians. Stephen was an entrepreneur with a variety of sales experience. He enjoyed reading and talking about history and politics, and played Empires and Allies, an online game, competitively. Stephen was a dog lover, most recently he had an Airedale terrier, Robin, who was both a companion and service dog. Stephen is survived by his loving daughter Marilyn Bane, his supportive sister Beverly Long, and his brother-in-law Tom Long. Stephen was proudly involved with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was known for being a helpful hand in his community. He was a devoted friend to many and a people person to all. A memorial service will be held at his church in Fairfield at a future date.
