Obituary

Charm can be deceiving, and beauty fades away. But a woman who honors the Lord deserves to be praised. Proverbs 31:30

Our mother, Georgia E Jones passed away Tuesday morning peacefully with her son Dwayne and grandson Jared at her side. A wife, mother, Grandma and Great Grandma. Mom was Friend and servant to everyone she met. And loved being able to help anyone in need.

Born August 7, 1941, to Hugh and Pearl Carter in Vallejo, CA at the Mare Island Naval Hospital. A World-War-Two baby, Georgia loved her mother Pearl whom she shared a unique and close bond. She cared for her sisters Virginia Santarini and Maryland Wheaton, both who live near her in the East Bay.

Georgia loved her husband Bobby Wayne Jones (deceased 1999) sharing their lives together for over forty years. They cherished their three sons Dennis, Dwayne, and Bobby Allen.  Georgia shared her life with a community of Christians raising her three sons in the Walnut Creek Church of Christ. A powerful Christian woman who loved God and the grace that is extended through the death, burial and resurrection of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The Jones brothers attended Costa Christian School. Georgia became a certified professional cook where she ran the Kitchen and enjoyed being able to attend to many needs. Georgia’s favorite camp was Opportunity Camp where she was a camp counselor and became the head cook for many years.  She also loved working in the Kitchen at Sierra Bible Camp. Georgia spent many Sundays’ cooking dinner for various homeless organizations around the Bay Area. And Mom loved working behind the scenes in veracious kitchens cooking and serving the Homeless in Contra Costa County as well as Mountain House Battered Women’s Shelter.

Georgia’s family grew to include three daughters LaRae, Amy and Tina (Deceased 2019).  Her Grandchildren; LaRen, LaRissa, Josh, Nick, Brandon, Bobby, Jared, Nate, Katie, Gabe, Zeb, Hugh, Ally and Hailee, with two Great Grandchildren Axel and Abigail.  Georgia also had many nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family.

People from all over the world called Georgia their bonus Mom or Grandma because she treated them like they were her kids.

Mom, your sons Dennis, Dwayne and Bobby were given the gift of Love because you taught us how to Love.

Thank you for your life of giving and service to Christ, your family, friends and community.
