Frank William Marietti Sr. passed away on July 26, 2020 from natural causes at the age of 89. Frank was born in Oakland, California, on August 10, 1930. He spent his childhood in Alameda County and graduated from Albany High School in 1949. Frank was inducted into the Army during June 1951 and served for two years. He served another six years in the Army Reserve. He received recognition for his excellent marksmanship while in the Army. Frank earned a living as a carpenter, truck driver, bar tender and janitor.
Frank was married to Joan Kazakoff for 30 years. Together they had two children, son Frank Jr. and daughter Priscilla. Frank is survived by his son and daughter, and his five grandchildren Francesca, Alicia, Kara, Jake and Karinne.
Frank enjoyed nature, animals, bike riding, walking, and hiking. He frequently walked or would ride his bike over to his son’s house or to the stores to window shop. If you live in Contra Costa County, chances are you saw Frank walking or riding his bike on one of his journeys. As a result of all this exercise, and eating healthy, he was in good health and active through his mid 80s. Frank also enjoyed family picnics and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Frank was very generous with his time when it came to family. He was always helping his children, grandchildren, and ex-wife with projects such as cutting down a tree, painting a house, replacing a fence, picking up the kids at school, or house and pet sitting while family was on vacation. Frank was very kind and forgiving with family members, preferring everyone just got along.
Frank was a devoted Catholic and always made time to attend mass every week. He will be greatly missed.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, please note that no more than 30 people may attend the service.
