David, 81, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2021. Born in San Francisco, CA, David graduated from Archbishop Riordan High School and later earned a degree from St. Mary’s College of California. David joined the United States Marine Corps before later becoming a firefighter. He enjoyed a 33 year career with the San Francisco Fire Department, retiring as an Assistant Chief. He also retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 5 from the United States Marine Corps Reserve. In his retirement, David was able to combine his free time with his love of sports, working as both an usher and a supervisor for the San Francisco Giants, the Oakland Athletics, and the Golden State Warriors. He was also a devoted fan of the San Francisco 49ers and the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
David is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Varsenig, devoted daughters Dina (Joe) and Jennifer, and grandsons James, Lucas, and Daniel. He is also survived by his brother Norman (Heather). David’s presence and big smile will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
