Daniel Scott Brown, fondly called “Dan the Man”, passed away in his home in Danville, Ca in the early hours of May 15, 2021. Dan was born October 18, 1962 in the Walnut Creek Kaiser Hospital to Milton and Virginia Brown. He was the fifth son soon to be followed by two sisters. Dan grew up with this big crew in Martinez, Ca where they were raised to be stalwart members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His love for his Father in Heaven and brother, Jesus Christ would compel him to share the gospel with everyone he came in contact with. He served an 18 month mission teaching the gospel to the people of the Madrid Spain mission when he was 19. After returning from his mission, he talked Jennifer Williams into marrying him in the Oakland, Ca temple for time and all eternity on June 22, 1984. They would finish their college together at Brigham Young University where he majored in economics and then graduate from BYU law school during which time their first son, Danny, would be born. Following graduation, the family moved to Danville where he would practice law for many years. Soon they would welcome their second son, Tommy, and 20 months later their daughter, Rebecca. It would be a long seven years wait to get their last son, Nate. Dan loved these babies and being a dad. He loved the scouting program and working with all ages of youth in the church. He loved sharing his knowledge with anyone that would listen. He eventually left the practice of law and worked in various security guard positions protecting his beloved Oakland Temple and the children of Oakland Children’s Hospital to name a few. Dan was a gifted writer, speaker, narrator, storyteller, actor and excelled at bad Dad jokes. We will miss his voice.

Dan is survived by his wife, Jennifer Williams Brown, children, Danny (Michael) Brown, Tommy Brown, Rebecca (Dane) Colunga and Nate. Also, by his siblings, James Brown, Dave (Ann) Brown, Steve Brown, Sam (Trish) Brown, Lorie Brown, Linda (Dwight) Long, his in-laws, Rob (Rachelle) Williams, Dan (Sandi) Williams, Julie (Kendall) Erickson; Mother-in-law Barbara Williams and a plethora of nieces and nephews from both sides. Dan is now with his parents, Milton and Virginia Brown and Father-in-law, Preston Williams, who have predeceased him.

Dan’s most oft quoted scripture- 2 Nephi 2:25 - Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy.

May you feel the joy of a loving Heavenly Father in your lives.
