Craig Norman Anthony Roberts passed away on June 7, 2022 after a short battle with brain cancer.

Craig, born to Ione Byrnes and Dennis Roberts in Honolulu, HI, grew up in Oakland and Piedmont, California. He had fond memories of his young childhood days on Boyd Avenue playing outside with his brothers and neighborhood friends

In 1996, Craig graduated cum laude from the University of San Francisco (USF) with a degree in business administration and a minor in mathematics. While at USF he met fellow student, Jenni. Together they enjoyed running the hills of San Francisco, indulging in dinners at historic John’s Grill, and walks in the Presidio. Married in 1999, they settled in Concord, California and welcomed their first child, Jolene in 2006 with Erin following in 2009.

Craig was a loving husband and father. He devoted his life to raising his daughters and taught them to be critical thinkers, consider different perspectives, and to have faith in God. They enjoyed many conversations around comics and Sponge Bob while also enjoying hikes at Mt. Diablo and in the East Bay hills. Together as a family they enjoyed many meals at Ed’s Mudville Grill in Clayton, to relax, eat and watch sports.

Craig although rational, could be opinionated and stubborn. As his daughters would say “he was stubborn in a good way”. Someone had once said that Craig had a good heart when referring to his stubborn nature, meaning his words and actions came from a pure and well-intended place.

Many who met Craig later in his life did not know that he was a skilled musician and played guitar in different bands throughout his teens and twenties. He had an eclectic taste in music and a vast collection - choir, classical, jazz, blues, rock, hardcore Christian and everything in between. Even earlier this year, a good Minnesota friend asked Craig to help with guitar riffs for songs he was composing. Recently Craig had also begun playing the keyboards and drums.

The annual Tahoe vacations created fond memories with family and great friends that Craig had known as far back as the 80’s. Craig enjoyed taking the girls hiking through Tahoe trails, letting them “drive” the boat on the lake, and putt-putt golf which made for entertaining times that will be greatly missed as we move forward.

Craig is survived by his wife Jenni and their two daughters, Jolene and Erin; his parents Ione and Dennis; brother Jonathan; brother Thaddeus and family, as well as extended family and friends.
