Charlene Phyllis Balderston

Charlene Balderston passed away May 21 in Walnut Creek, California. A celebration of Charlene and her life will be held August 13, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Unity of Walnut Creek.

Charlene was born in Berkely California to Darwin Cioffi and Phyllis (Bettencourt) Cioffi. She spent most of her childhood in Albany, California, prior to moving to Concord, California. She attended U.C. Davis as a biology major.

Charlene was facilities manager and wedding coordinator at Unity of Walnut Creek as well as a long time member. She treasured spending time with her family and friends and adored time spent with her grandchildren, who always brought a smile to her face. She loved to watch just about any sport (especially the Warriors and the Giants), loved reading, doing crossword puzzles and coloring. She enjoyed exercising, particularly aqua aerobics, yoga, going to the gym and walking and took up being trained by her son-in-law the last few years.

Charlene was incredibly kind, caring, giving, and was known for being a mighty force for good and a powerhouse that got things done. She was also known for her wonderful quick-witted sense of humor, and her open-hearted love. To her children she would say I don’t like to say “goodbye” it’s “see you later.”

Charlene is survived by her identical twin sister, Darlene, children Kari Balderston and Trippe Roloff, Kevin and Olesya Balderston, and grandchildren Denys, Nico, Kalina, and Dominic.

We miss her beyond imagination and know she is held in the palm of God’s hand. Memorial contributions can be made in Charlene’s name to Unity of Walnut Creek.
