Carolyn Estelle Davis
August 2, 1925 - December 1, 2020
Carolyn Estelle Davis passed away on Tuesday night surrounded by both daughters and a granddaughter.  She left this world peacefully and without much discomfort or struggle, much the way she lived her life.  She was born while on a family visit in Salt Lake City, Utah and was raised on a dairy farm in the small town of Gannett, Idaho.  She grew up the youngest of 7 children during The Great Depression.  After graduating High School in Hailey, Idaho she relocated to Richmond, CA and worked in the shipyards as a "Rosie the Riveter".  When WWII ended she completed Beauty School Training and soon after married Ralph J Davis, her hometown sweetheart.
The couple settled in Pleasant Hill, CA and resided there for more than seventy years.  For 10+ years as a young married couple, Ralph and Carolyn enjoyed camping and fishing and going out dancing every chance they got.  They socialized often with "the Idaho group" which were a group of 10 to 12 couples who all relocated from Idaho to Northern California.  Carolyn was a working Beautician for nearly forty years in the city of Lafayette.  She enjoyed an active lifestyle that included bowling in a league, square-dancing, golfing, and extensive traveling.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints and served in various positions as part of the PH congregation that meets at the Boyd Rd. Chapel.   During the 1960's to 1980's she managed her job, marriage, and all the aforementioned activities while raising two kids, caring for a elderly Mother in Law, and visiting her own declining mother in a rest home in Oakland.
Carolyn is survived by loving daughters Cheryl Kidd (George), of Idaho Falls, ID, and Nancy Allen of Livermore, CA and grandchildren Michelle Kidd, (Luke) of Idaho Falls, Melissa Kitchen (Keith),of Australia, Melanie Kidd of El Cerrito, CA, Michael Kidd of Idaho Falls, ID, Carter Allen of San Jose, CA, and Devany Allen of Livermore, CA, and Great Granddaughter Brooklyn Jerde of Idaho Falls, ID.  Her kindness, positivity, and fun-loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her, but especially by her family.
Due to current Covid restrictions a small memorial gathering is replacing standard funeral services.  Please e-mail daughter Nancy, at for details.  Carolyn will be laid to rest at Hailey City Cemetary, Hailey, ID.
