Carlos La Fuente
10/09/1950 ~ 12/04/2020
It is with great sadness that the La Fuente family announces the death of Carlos La Fuente at the age of 70. He passed on December 4th at John Muir Medical Center in Concord after his battle with COVID-19. Carlos is survived by his wife Maria, of 13 years.
Born in Bolivia to his father Sebastian La Fuente and his mother, Leonor Antezana Sejas. Carlos was filled with curiosity and a sense of adventure. He came to America in 1972 and shortly thereafter became a United States Citizen. Carlos resided in the bay area for over 50 years. In that time, Carlos attended college and became a Dental Technician, a career that he enjoyed for over 40 years with the same company.
Carlos is survived by his most loving wife Maria. They met by chance over 13 years ago through friends and their friendship grew into a strong bond in marriage. Carlos enjoyed his weekends hunting down a bargain at the flea market or taking a drive with Maria to meet up with friends. Together, Maria and Carlos shared the joy of gardening, traveling, and good friends. This shared life gave a zest for life and joy. It was the big moments and the quiet moments that they shared together that Maria will miss the most.
Carlos had a wonderful life, shared with family and friends. He would have loved to have raised a glass of wine to thank those that made it possible. Time with friends brought Carlos great joy, especially when it involved a homemade meal and a glass of wine. Carlos treasured his friends and like wine, his friendships got better with time. Carlos enjoyed tinkering with electronics, which worked well with his hobby of restoring speakers and cars, a passion he truly enjoyed. Carlos will be remembered as a man who enjoyed classical music, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. Rest in peace my Husband, my Friend!
