Aaron Thomas Smith

June 30, 1980 ~ April 7, 2022 (age 41)

Aaron Thomas Smith passed away unexpectedly on April 7, 2022. He is survived by his wife Rachel of 17 years, daughters Kianna, Alyssa, Nalia, and son Liam of Pittsburg. He is also survived by his mother Debbie Smith of Martinez, his grandmother Carol Rogers of Rossmore, and his sisters, Angie Toland (Scott), Stacey Sakaria (Uati), and Sarah. He is pre-deceased by his father Paul Smith.
Aaron was born on June 30, 1980 in Walnut Creek, California to Debbie and Paul Smith. He was their 4th and youngest child, and their only son. He was raised in Martinez, California, and attended College Park and Ygnacio Valley High School. From the time he was little he was everything “boy." As a child, he loved bikes, sports, super heroes, building forts, and fishing, and as a teenager he excelled in sports, being especially successful in baseball. As a boy he was his dad’s shadow, copying what he did, working alongside him with his own tools while they worked in the yard and on the house. As a teenager he started to learn construction from his dad, and went into the profession himself, starting his own business, ANR Construction.
Aaron served a mission in El Salvador for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Shortly after coming home, he met and married Rachel in the San Jose, Costa Rica temple, and they started their life in Pittsburg, California. He was a devoted husband and father, who loved his wife and kids more than anything and the feeling was mutual. He had a special relationship with each of his children.
As an adult, his love of hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles continued, and he did many of these activities with his kids. He inherited his very strong work ethic from his father and worked tirelessly for his family.
Aaron was known and loved by many people and had numerous “best friends” and “brothers” always willing to quietly help wherever needed. We are grateful for the knowledge that we have, and that we will see Aaron again.
Aaron was buried at Memory Gardens cemetery in Concord, California. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 10:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 2201 Golf Club Rd. in Pittsburg, CA  94565.
