Steven Chuckrow Simon passed away on Thursday from complications related to Alzheimer's. He was 73 years old.
Steven was born in New Jersey and grew up in New Rochelle, New York, where he graduated from New Rochelle High School. Steven attended the University of Vermont and San Francisco State, where he received a Masters in Psychology. Steven enjoyed a long career at the Jewish Family and Childrens Services in San Francisco, where he was Director of Utility Workshop, an emigre resettlement and job training program.
Steven was a devoted fan of the San Francisco Giants and the Golden State Warriors, and he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his many friends and extended family. He is survived by his wife Toba Simon, daughter Rachel Simon, sister Molly Katz, nephews Christopher and Terry Katz, and stepsons Jed Olson and Raymond Olson and their families. He will be missed by many for his kind, gregarious personality, his warm sense of humor, and his open-hearted, inquisitive approach to life.
