Marta Redmond

November 12, 1963 ~ July 3, 2018 (age 54)

Marta Jo Marquez Redmond, 54, was taken from this earthly life way too soon. Born on November 12th, 1963 in South San Francisco. She is survived by her loving husband of over 30 years, Tracy Redmond; her 3 loving children, Matthew, Danielle and Lucas Redmond; by her brother, Jeff Marquez of Pittsburg, CA, and his family, Gerri, Travis and Joseph Marquez. Also, 2 Aunts, Gerry Banks of Huntington Beach, CA and Lucy Ruybal of Littleton, CO. There were originally 10 Marquez siblings (her father Ray was one) and as such, she is also survived by numerous cousins. Preceded in death by her parents, Raymond & Judith Marquez, and her in-laws, Daniel & Marie Redmond.

Marta grew up in Daly City, CA and attended Holy Angels Catholic School until 1973, when the Marquez family moved into a brand new house in Walnut Creek. Marta attended Foothill Middle School, then Northgate High School and then Diablo Valley College where she earned her AA Degree. She worked at JCPenney in her youth, then dispatched for a security company. At age 20 she began her career at Televents Cable TV Company in Pleasant Hill and quickly moved up the ranks. She was a Supervisor of Customer Service, then became a Trainer. After Televents was taken over by TCI Cablevision, she became the Marketing Manager, then Training Manager, then Regional Training Manager, for the entire Northern California Territory. She loved her career and was always so professional and beloved by all employees.

It was at Televents Cable back in 1985 when her and Tracy met, eventually fell in love and were married in January of 1988. Matthew was born later that year and the twins, Danielle and Lucas, were born in 1994.  In March of 1999, the entire Redmond family was sealed for time and all eternity in the Oakland Temple of The Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-day Saints. Marta had to retire in 1999 from her career due to health issues.

Marta loved her husband and children above anything else in her life. Her husband and children all loved and adored her as well. The Redmond family was very close and loving, so the tragedy that befell her is such a shock that we cannot even fathom what took place. Marta was also a huge animal lover and is survived by her dog Tobey, and her cats Goomba and Daisy.

Please join us as we celebrate the wonderful life of Marta Redmond, on Saturday, July 21st, 2018, at 2:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel at 1101 McClarren Rd., Brentwood, CA 94513.
