Kenneth Orville Affolter passed away on Saturday from heart failure. He touched so many lives with his unique brand of story telling.
Kenneth was the first baby born in Fort Omaha, Omaha, Nebraska. His father Alfred Affolter was a career military officer which meant that as a young child they had to move multiple times. The last move the family made was to Concord, CA., where Kenneth graduated from Mount Diablo High School. After graduation he spent six years in the United States Army taking on many different tasks and duties. His duties had him state side as well as in too many different war zones. He enjoyed reading, Friday nights watching mysteries with his family, vacations at a cabin with the family, and he was also an avid political aficionado.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife Melanie of 55 years; devoted children Reed of Pleasant Hill, CA., Dean of Los Angelas, CA., and Ehrin of Star Idaho; Caring Sister-in-law Diana Tanner of Oakdale, CA.; Loving daughter-in-laws Heather and Jennifer. Six grandchildren Fiona, Logan, Niamh, Veronica, Jethro, and Liam.
Service to be held 10 AM, Monday, April 1, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2369 Overlook Drive, Walnut Creek, CA. Interment with Military Honors at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, CA.
