JESSIE LYNN SALSMAN
1963 - 2018
Jessie Lynn Salsman of Fairfield, California passed peacefully at home, surrounded by family on March 15, 2018. In 2016, he was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). He had a very fast developing form. This disease, combined with complications from pneumonia led to his passing.
Jessie was born Sept. 1, 1963 in Fort Hood, Texas. Shortly after his birth, his family moved to Napa, California, where he was raised. In his mid-20s, he and wife Deanne started a family of their own and relocated to Suisun City, California where they bought their first home in 1992.
Jessie comes from a military family. He followed in his family’s footsteps and served in the Army National Guard Reserves for 17 years. While serving, he began his career as a truck driver in Napa/American Canyon. He worked for Clark’s Rock, Cultured Stone (Stucco Stone) and Valley Recycling.
Jessie’s hobbies included fishing and duck hunting, going to concerts and attending sprint car races. He was also passionate about sports, basketball, baseball, football and NASCAR. He attended concerts, races and sporting events up until a few months before his passing.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Deanne; children, Jeremy (Krystal), Lindsey (Albert), Alex and Tenaya; grandchildren, Bella(6) and Layla(1); sisters, Jessica, Cynthia and Cathy; and multiple cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jessie was preceded in death by his father, Jesse 'Sarge'; his mother, Taeko 'Terry'; and his brother, Joseph 'Joe'.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March, 24, 2018, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2700 Camrose Ave., Fairfield, California.
