Carol Catherine Lind
Resident of Lafayette
December 25, 1921 – June 5, 2018
Born in San Francisco, Carol was raised in Oakland. She was member of the Tri-Delta Sorority at UC Berkeley, graduating with a degree in political science. She married her high school sweet-heart, Harold Lind in 1943. They raised four children, Spike, Jim, Tom and Susan. Carol was a happy grandmother to Briana, Ray and Dane, as well as a great grandmother to Bryn and Thomas. She had a career in teaching after raising her family.
She loved her children, home, garden, played tennis into her 80’s, and volunteered her time at local live theater, animal shelters, Kaiser and many local organizations. She enjoyed her bridge pals, books, politics, travel, and always wanted friends and family over for pool parties.
She combined her spirit of volunteerism, social involvement and personal commitment to the 1993 and 1994 California Aids Rides, San Francisco to Los Angeles. She became the beloved Den Mother for SAG support for those 1000 miles.
