Mary Jane Love, a resident of Millbrae, CA since 1946, passed away on February 11 at age 90 in Walnut Creek, CA. Predeceased by father, Joseph Love, mother, Mary Love, sisters Emma and Laura, and survived by sister Nellie Barrington of Lebec, Ca; brother Jim, of Hawaii; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mary Jane was born in Waipahu, Hawaii, attended UC Berkeley, and worked for Manhattan Industries in San Francisco for over 40 years. She was a member of St. Dunstan’s Parish in Millbrae. Mary loved to talk about the history of World War II and assisted historians with research surrounding the attack of Pearl Harbor, and other activities relating to war activities in Hawaii. Mary was working at the army hospital at Schofield Barracks at the time of the attack and had many stories to tell about that day, and those that followed. Mary’s other passion was the horse races at Tanforan, Bay Meadows and Golden Gate Fields, where she won more often than she lost.
Family and friends are invited to attend graveside services on Friday, February 19, at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma, CA.
