Jesus "Jesse" Mallari Mesia of Pleasant Hill, California passed away suddenly on February 6, 2017 at the age of 64. Visitation will be held on Sunday February 12 from 2 to 8pm at Oak Park Hills Chapel in Walnut Creek.
Jesse was born in the Philippines and grew up in the town of Novaliches in Quezon City. He was valedictorian of his high school class and continued to earn a bachelor's degree in business at Philippine College of Commerce in Manila. He moved to the United States in 1976 following his father and eldest sister. Jesse was married to Nancy Marana on October 10, 1979. They were married for 13 years.
Jesse worked as a technician for Pacific Bell for 25 years. However, his true passion and gift was his phenomenal ear for music. He taught himself to play guitar at a very young age. But his favorite instrument of choice became the piano and electronic keyboard. Self-taught and with music courses taken at Diablo Valley College, he expanded his musical interest to jazz, adding to his repertoire of rock and roll, contemporary, pop music. He was a member of several various bands over the years and would form his own. Jesse was truly a gifted artist. His creativity was not simply limited to music. His talent extended to the art of drawing and was born with the natural ability to sketch and developed a collection that he kept in a portfolio.
Jesse is lovingly remembered by his daughter Lisa, siblings Leticia, Joel, Ramon, Cora, nieces, nephews and grand nephews. Jesse is preceded in death by his father Justino, mother Rosalina, brothers Radigando and Francisco.
The family of Jesse wishes to thank countless devoted friends and kin for their love and support. A celebration of life party will be held at his home on Saturday February 18, 2017 at 1:30 PM.
