Dedicate my donation for the Memory of Jeannie Santos:

- The March of Dimes

https://www.marchofdimes.org/giving/support-general.aspx Being born premature, Andy and Alyssa, Jeannie’s twin niece and nephew both overcame obstacles in their first few months of their life and she was right there with Dale and Melissa every step of the way.  Born on February 19, 2000, Andy was 2lbs 9oz.  Alyssa was 2lbs 8oz.  They were born at 28 weeks, 12 weeks premature.  They were in the hospital about 2 months before coming home.  March of Dimes helped by their research that contributed directly to the methods and medicine they used to help them survive.  Jeannie often spoke about how proud she was of them both -- Andy with his musical talent and Alyssa with her track and field accomplishments.  Without the March of Dimes, Jeannie’s niece and nephew may not have been a so much part of her life.

The Jeanne Santos, CMP Scholarship Fund will give this same opportunity to other deserving candidates who endeavor to provide that "above the line" passion to produce significant and highly esteemed events within their organizations and will ensure they are awarded to the most deserving members who have similar values that Jeannie possessed in abundance.

Jeannie Santos’ Eulogy

Jeannie Santos was a wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many.  She will always be remembered for her strength, generous heart, enjoying life to its fullest and take-charge attitude.  Jeannie passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 21, 2017 in Martinez, CA.  She was born July 28, 1969 and loved Bryan Adams’ famous song, “Summer of 69,” and claimed it to be her “song.”  She also claimed 1969 to be the best year to be born as that was the year that man first walked on the moon.  Jeannie is survived by her husband, Joseph Santos; her parents, Norman and Georgia Brewer; her brothers Norman, Kenneth and his wife Karuna, and Dale and his wife Melissa, along with their twins, Andy and Alyssa; Joe’s parents, Joseph and Gloria; Joe’s brother Adam and his two children Theresa and Trevor; and Joe’s late brother Jerry’s two children, Jerry Jr. and Stephanie.

Growing up in a family with three older, competitive brothers, Jeannie quickly learned to hold her own.  From the day she was born until the day she left this world, her brothers were always there for her as she was for them.  Jeannie’s family refer to her as the glue that kept them all together, and if things started to get a little out of control she dubbed the word “peanut butter” as their safe word that meant it was time to change the subject.

Jeannie met her husband Joe in 1989 when she was 20 years old while working at Best Products.  They wed in June of 1994 and enjoyed 23 happy years of marriage.  On their wedding day, Bryan Adams’ song “(Everything I Do) I Do it for You” was sung to celebrate their special day. During those 23 years, Jeannie and Joe spent time traveling the world, attending concerts and sporting events, and spending time with family and friends.  There rarely was a weekend that they didn’t have plans.  Jeannie loved spending time with her niece and nephew and was there for them from the day they were born.  Being born premature, Andy and Alyssa both overcame obstacles in their first few months of their life and Jeannie was right there with Dale and Melissa every step of the way.  Jeannie often spoke about how proud she was of both of them -- Andy with his musical talent and Alyssa with her track and field accomplishments.  Mostly, Jeannie was proud to be their aunt and truly enjoyed doing all the cool things that Aunties do.

The past five years, Jeannie worked for Valent U.S.A as the Senior Executive Assistant to Andy Lee and Matt Plitt.  In a statement from their company, they shared the following, “She was a humble powerhouse, whose passion and creativity graced our company meetings and gave life to the vision and values of our organization through her legendary presentations and her championing of the Spirit of Valent Recognition Program.  She was the architect of so many memorable moments at Valent, from the most recent Valent 5K Run, to the Rise Against Hunger CSR event, and the incredible national meetings held in Monterrey, San Jose and Sacramento.  To her colleagues, she will be remembered as an incredible talent, who always went the extra mile to get the job done.  And to her friends, she will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and contagious spirit.”  Prior to working for Valent, Jeannie spent 12 years as the Customer Marketing Manager at Central Garden & Pet.  Jeannie was passionate about her career, was an inspiration to many, and truly cared about her co-workers, often sharing outside interests with many.

There were many people that Jeannie touched throughout her life. She had a generous heart and a contagious spirit.  She was that true friend.  In the short 48 years that we were blessed to have her with us, Jeannie not only lived life to the fullest, but she made an impact on so many lives.  Jeannie loved everything about the ocean, from the waves crashing against the beach, to putting her toes in the sand, to just swimming or scuba diving in the salty ocean water.  This was her happy place, and every place she traveled there was always an ocean close by.  It is no surprise that Jeannie chose her final resting place as the Neptune Memorial Reef off the coast of Florida. Jeannie’s smile, laughter, and generous heart will be missed, but her memory will live forever.  We were blessed to have her in our lives.

May she rest in peace.
