Jeanne Collett Lundahl
April 16, 1937 - December 13, 2017
Resident of Martinez
Our beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister and aunt, Jeanne Collett Lundahl passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in Pleasant Hill, California on December 13, 2017 after her third struggle with cancer.
Jeanne, an identical twin, was born in Cokeville, Wyoming to Ella and Grant Collett. The family moved to Logan, Utah when Jeanne was a teenager. It was there Jeanne met John Lundahl. The couple later married in the LDS temple. The two continued to live in and around Logan until about 1966 when the young family moved Kingsburg, California. Jeanne later moved to Orinda, California and then to Martinez, California where she became a longtime resident.
Jeanne taught at the junior college level for nearly three decades. She loved teaching and was very devoted to her students, often spending her own time to help them with their studies. Jeanne was also an active and devoted lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a loving mother to her three children with whom she enjoyed spending time whenever possible. She was also an avid dog lover and a devoted caretaker for her dog Kookie whom she just recently lost. Jeanne had great musical talent, playing both the piano and organ and often singing in church choirs as well as in duets and trios with her sisters.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister, Joanne Peterson, and her daughter, Susan Murray. She is survived by her other sister Geraldine Middaugh of Rancho Cordova, California, and her two sons, Brad (Michelle) Lundahl of Tempe, Arizona and Scott (Claire) Lundahl of Lexington, Massachusetts as well as her former husband John Lundahl of Sun Lakes Arizona.
Jeanne was blessed with two grandchildren, Nicole Murray and Lauren Lundahl, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends & Family are invited to a memorial service at the Martinez LDS chapel (940 Palisade Drive, Martinez) at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 16th. Visitation from 10 AM at the church. Interment at Hyrum City Cemetery, Hyrum, UT.
