Baleria, Frank----Frank Baleria loved golf, baseball, and being a firefighter. He passed away on April 12, 2017 in Walnut Creek, CA.
Frank was born on Jan. 23, 1936 in Berkeley, CA to Fred and Elizabeth Baleria. He attended Emeryville High School, where he was a standout first baseman. After high school, Frank joined the Emeryville fire department, and six years later transferred to the Oakland Fire Department. He remained with OFD for the remainder of his career – 35 years – retiring as a Captain in 1999.
Frank is survived by his loving wife Ana, brother Gary, sister Doreen, and daughters Cheryl, Rocio, Erika and Anabelle. Frank also has five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Frank will be greatly missed by all of his family and many friends, who will especially miss his irreverent smile and commitment to enjoying his golf, time with friends, and family.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday April 20 at 10 a.m. at Oak Park Hills Chapel, 3111 North Main St. Walnut Creek, CA 94596.
Frank’s family invites all of his friends to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 8th Ave. 7th floor, New York, NY 1001.
