Don B. OlsenJanuary 19, 1954 ~ January 5, 2018 (age 63)
Don B. Olsen died peacefully at home on January 5th, 2018 in Concord, CA at the young age of 63. Don is survived by his wife, Brenda; their children Randy, Gary, Walter, Melissa and Scott and 13 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Barton and Norma Olsen of San Luis Obispo, California.
Don was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. He served a LDS mission to Central America where he met and then later married his best friend Brenda Holt, in 1976. He graduated from BYU in 1978 with a Masters degree in Accounting. After moving to Concord, California, Don began working for an accounting firm and after many years decided to start his own practice. His children remember him as a kind man who loved his family, his church, rock and roll music, golf, a good laugh, and only wanting to lighten the burden of others.
Don was very good with numbers and had an amazing memory which astounded many when he could recall long fortgotten details of past events. He was a generous man with a sharp wit and he had a unique hissing laugh that was sure to create a chuckle from others. He was an active and dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and volunteered throughout his life.
A viewing will take place at Oak Park Hills Chapel 3111 North Main Street, Walnut Creek on January 12th from 6-8pm. The following day, Saturday January 13, a funeral service is scheduled for 9am at 100 North Gate Road, Walnut Creek, with viewing prior from 8-9am. Interment will be at Oakmont Park in Lafayette. Friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Don's life.
